Total Internal Reflection
"Nothing is too wonderful to be true if it be consistent with the laws of nature." — Michael Faraday

This body of work draws from the CIA’s declassified Stargate Project (1978−1995), a Cold War program that investigated psychic phenomena, particularly remote viewing, as a possible tool for intelligence gathering. I am particularly drawn to this archive as it allows me to navigate a crucial moment when the Institution attempted to legitimize the uncertain, exposing how speculative practices were institutionalized and preserved as authoritative knowledge.

Housework
Housework usually remains in the background of everyday life. In my project, it becomes its central subject. I am interested in looking at everyday activities—folding laundry, cleaning, or cooking—not only as daily responsibilities, but also as material for artistic practice.
The project is rooted in my own experience and is autoethnographic in nature. Repeatedly photographing, drawing, and analysing the same gestures transformed the way I perceived them. They ceased to be merely monotonous chores and became a way of observing everyday life and engaging creatively with what had previously seemed to be nothing more than routine. Show more
Karolina Ćwik is a Polish visual artist and photographer based in Wrocław. Her practice combines photography, collage, drawing, and installation to explore domestic labour, care, and everyday life. She studied at the Institute of Creative Photography at the University of Silesia in Opava.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts (Brussels), Circulation (s) Festival (Paris), Belfast Photo Festival, Tbilisi Photo Festival, Bunkier Sztuki (Kraków), and BWA Design (Wrocław). In 2024 she participated in the ING Polish Art Foundation Summer Residency.

I Hope Someday You’ll Join Us
We do not enter the future by discovering it, but by imagining it together.

As an Asian woman and queer artist living in Europe and working between Paris, Shanghai, and New York, I move between different cultures, languages, and systems of belonging. This position has shaped my understanding of proximity—not as physical closeness, but as something that must be actively created.

Nyo Jinyong Lian is a visual artist working across staged photography and moving image, based in Paris. Her practice investigates how trust, intimacy, and belonging are constructed under conditions of uncertainty. Treating fiction as a form of social architecture, she creates meticulously choreographed encounters that function as speculative models for alternative ways of living together.

Hairouna
At first glance, St. Vincent and the Grenadines appears to be an independent island nation — yet the traces of colonialism remain unmistakable. British colonial rule brought not only political domination but also the enslavement of African people and the exploitation and displacement of indigenous communities — a history that shaped the island’s economic and social foundations for centuries. Since gaining formal independence in 1979, the country has been striving for political and cultural self-determination. Show more
Sarah J. Sullivan is a freelance photographer living and working between Berlin and St. Vincent. In October 2025, she graduated from the Ostkreuz School of Photography in Berlin, where she studied under Irina Ruppert.

Her documentary and artistic practice examines the interplay between historical contexts, individual lived realities and collective memory. She explores how personal and social experiences shape contemporary identities, engaging with questions of belonging, remembrance and cultural identity.
