A graduate of the Musrara photography school in Jerusalem, Raed Bawayah is a Palestinian photographer who divides his time between Paris - where he settled 18 years ago after obtaining an artistic scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts - and his travels around the world for photographic projects.
A committed photographer, his works have been exhibited in several museums, such as the European House of Photography in Paris, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Stuttgart, the Multimedia Museum in Moscow and the Tel Aviv Museum, as well as in festivals such as the Arles Photography Meetings and the Visa pour l'image Festival.
His works have been acquired by the French Ministry of Culture, the city of Paris, the Tel Aviv Museum, the Stuttgart Museum of Contemporary Art and the Fondation des Treilles. He has received several prizes and honorable mentions, such as the Fondation des Treilles prize for photography and was a finalist for the Paris Academy of Fine Arts prize.
In addition to his artistic projects, Raed Bawayah has organized photography events such as the La Quatrième Image festival in Paris, the International Photography Competition, the Vienna International Photo Awards and other private exhibitions.
